in any text-editor. If you want to use other letters than ASCII/ANSI you have to use a text-editor that can work with UTF-8 format.portaleazzurro wrote:yes, but WHERE you make these changes to the XML?
i suggest "Notepad++" (there you can change the format of a text-file to UTF-8 in the format-menu) or you can use "XML Notepad 2007" which i use to update the translation-file of YoWindow:

Hi Pavel!
I tried to follow your tutorial and took a photo from my last vacation.
i removed the sky (Paint.net) and told YoWindow where to find the ywl-file.
But it only shows the sky (YoWindow in full-screen mode) - i think because the picture is very large: 3872x2592
The horizontal-line is at 1400px. My screen-resolution is 1280x1024.
Does YoWindow "rescale" the picture and its horizontal-line?

Re: Live Sky tutorial feedback
I resized my big picture to a width of 1280; now the picture is shown in YoWindow but with a white sky (no clouds, sun, etc.)
In the ywl-file i used a different name of the picture but the same id as for the big picture.
At the moment i have no idea what's wrong - any hint?

Ikarus, your background is wonderful, it seems three-dimensional!
I'm contraption with XML files but there is something else again.

Re: Live Sky tutorial feedback
i could'nt upload the ywl-file itself, so i posted the content of it.
If you want to try it, you unfortunately have to copy/paste it in your editor and save it in the same directory as my picture...

Re: Live Sky tutorial feedback
Hey, Reinhart, glad to read you!
1. First of all, there is a limitation on picture size.
The picture cannot be more than 2880 pixels by width or height
This is a Flash player limitation.
I need to add a note about this to the tutorial.
2. The background in your picture is white, but not transparent.
Make sure that Paint.net saves transparency to .png file.
White sky covers the sky displayed by YoWindow.
3. Don't you mind if you use your comments in our tutorial to clear up the topic about XML editor?

Franco, you may download XML Notepad here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
landscapes.xml is an old file, don't look there it may confuse you.
Look for pyramids.ywl file in this dir
-Vista or Windows 7
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\YoWindow\landscapes\live_sky_example
-XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\YoWindow\landscapes\live_sky_example
Replace [your user name] with your Windows login (user) name
