Because the picture is of format 1600x900. Maybe your screen resolution is a little bit wider?

Re: landscape doesn't fill program screen.
Last try.
I suppose you don't want look at distorted pictures.
Then think of a picture of your own.
You are displaying it fullscreen without distortion.
Now there are two possibilities:
In case of 2. there will be stripes (either on the left/right or on top/below)
If you are displaying the picture in any program without distortion, it's the same.
The program has an area, where it displays the picture (in general the program-window without title-bar, menu-bar(s), status-bars, ...).
Think of this area as the "screen" (of the program) so there will be stripes or not depending on the fact that either the aspect ratio of the picture matches the aspect-ratio of the displaying area (the "screen" of the program) or not (see above).
It's the same with YoWindow.
The reason why the default landscape is always displayed full-screen is that this landscape is no photo but a flash-generated picture which is scaled the right way (without distortion) automatically by some programming-code.
That's all.

I set the Ikarus1969 picture from "NewYork The Statue of Liberty" in your resolution of 1366x768, so now it's have to fit without black borders.

Re: landscape doesn't fill program screen.
its a big no. i already set them to my resolution. tried yours as well . still black bars in the program.
when the screen is full i made one at 1700 x 730 and it fills now. but when its a smaller screen. it still has black bars. making it in my resolution does nothing but black bars in both cases.
